With one out of every eight women being diagnosed with breast cancer, it’s no wonder the Divine Protectors are committed to supporting the work of the Louisiana Breast Cancer Task Force (LBCTF). One of the first projects was to design and print cards featuring DIVAs in full costume that were sold in packages of eight, of course, with proceeds going to the LBCTF. They have also been widely distributed to woman hospitalized for breast cancer.
The Divine Protectors have also sponsored LBCTF events, made donations from the organization, and, most recently, offered previous years’ bustiers for sale by silent auction to benefit the organization during its annual gallery show.
Created in 1992, the LBCTF is a grassroots organization working to eradicate breast cancer—wouldn’t that be nice!—and to promote breast health and breast cancer awareness at schools, churches, health fairs, and places of employment. The non-profit organization funds Louisiana-based breast cancer research, grants and projects related to breast cancer.
